Matthew Robert Flinn passed away Friday January 16th, 2009 after a job related truck accident.

He was born March 11th, 1976 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert and Reinita Flinn. He grew up in the East Millcreek area of Salt Lake. He always had a smile for everyone and he loved to joke around with those he knew.

Matt was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He graduated high school from Skyline High in the Millcreek/Holladay area. He was employed by Turner Gas as a driver. He loved his job, as he was always fascinated by big trucks. He was an experienced trucker and always considered himself a safe driver. He loved his family, especially his two young children.

His interests were always related to the outdoors, especially driving and riding vehicles. His favorites were dirt bikes, four wheelers, and his dads dune buggy. He loved camping and hiking, particularly at Joes Valley with his family, his two children, and his longtime friends.

He was previously married to Lauren, the mother of his two beloved children.

He is survived by his two children Kadin (6) and Grace (2), his parents Robert and Reinita, brother Mike (Heidi), sister Rachel (Barrett) Craig, his special friend Krista Crook, and five nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Alexis.

Funeral services will be held Friday January 23rd 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Family and friends may visit Thursday evening at Mountain View Memorial Estates from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and one hour prior to services on Friday. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetary following the service.
