Tribute & Message From The Family

Cristina Trujillo

Strong, Hard-Working, Loving. These words describe Cristina Matilde Trujillo, who passed away at the age of 41 on June 28th, 2011 in West Valley City. She lived in West Pointe with her 5 children Jerry, Citlali, Andres, Marco and Italia, and her grandson Zuriel.

Cristina was born on March 31st, 1970 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Manuel and Angelina Vorher. In addition to her older brother Carlos (Vicky) and his family, she left behind a large extended family that all grieve at her untimely death. Cristina attended West High School where she had a love of gymnastics. After graduation she went to Salt Lake Community College and the LDS Business School. Cristina was a business owner in multiple ways, running a Mexican candy store at the Salt Lake Indoor Swap Meet and offices in West Valley and Ogden where she sold insurance and bail bonds. She also helped out the community by being on the Salt Lake City Police Civilian Review Board. When she wasn’t working she would either spend time with her children at home or go out dancing with her friends. Cristina was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend who did all she could to help the people she cared for.

A trust fund has been set up to accept donations for her children through Wells Fargo under the name Vorher Trujillo Family Trust Fund. Condolence & Memory Journal

Cristina, was truly loved, most of all by our precious savior Jesus. I will continute to remeber and love her, passing on things she taught to me. I told her I would be there for her and my brothers and sisters. Now I will be there for those she loves, Lord help me to be true to my word. She could make me laugh with her great sense of humor. I am so thankful for the time we did have, now more and more flooding back to my remberance like a sweet frangrance. Now is the time for mourning and soon we will reunite in joyfull celebration, because of what Jesus did on the cross.

Dear Andres and Citlali,

I was shocked and dismayed to read about this horrible crime happening to the precious mother of AMES students, and I have felt sadness and grief at this senseless loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you both, and I know this will be a long process to find happiness and peace again in your lives. Give yourselves time and the love of family and friends to lean on. We love you both!!

Sincerely, Cathy Hansen

I, and all of Cristina's West High Gymnastics family, were very saddened to hear of her passing. She was a lively soul who brought joy to all around her. I loved her outgoing and bubbly personality and can do attitude. You could not be sad around Cristina. I will miss you!
